Marriage Preparation Weekend (MPW)

I've just gone through MPW last weekend. The purpose of this retreat is to challenge us back why we want to get married.

The sessions covered on Faith and religion, Communication, Challenges in married life. Above all, I personally think that Father Eddie's sharing is the best. In marriage, it should be "Assume nothing, Expect everything". And that is marriage. We cannot tell we will be happy forever but we should expect the worst and to deal with the worst together.

Daniel and I both realised that we have not been putting faith in our daily lives. We felt that we both need to work on this as somehow God is still very much an individual topic for us. We need to put God in, not just individual lives but in our relationship.

I thank the speakers who really shared their real life stories to us which made think impossible to be happened in a Catholic family. I was wrong. All humans are the same and if we were to put God in the centre, nothing can ruin this bond.

What Father Eddie shared was so true. Today's people are seeking fast relationship. One can give in oneself within 3 days.. Is sex something not sacred any more? Is sex just a thing that does not belong to one's body part? And where is one self dignity? I've heard so much from friends on how they have gone through. Some were cheated and some having outside relationship. Love and sex could not be separated. I think its not true. Sex is part of love. If love is genuine, sex can be later for love is patience.

I do pray that God may heal my heart broken friends and that they may be able to see and understand what is the real meaning of love in today's world. And I pray that God may strengthen our relationship and that He may continue to guide us and journey with us.
