Finger Cross

I guess it’s a human instinct to source for other alternatives that are available when the current one is not helping or moving. I see myself in the same scenario when I’ve down with flu and cough since end Feb – early March.

I’ve sought three private clinics and twice government clinics but still couldn’t be fully healed. Partly contributing to worsen my health was the unending work that I have and for working out-station for some roadshows. I must admit that I was recovering but I sacrificed health for work sake.

I got worsen in mid of March as I thought by resting more would help but no. I turned back to government clinic and I was given tones of medications. They gave me a stronger dose of antibiotic after I’ve finished 2 types of antibiotic from private clinics. The stronger dose of antibiotics did help to make it better but at the same time; it made me felt half dead. After I finished the 3rd type of antibiotic, I got worse.

My friend recommended me to try another “Sin Seh” or the traditional Chinese medicine doctor. To my surprise, I can see in an overnight, my cough reduced to 40% better. The Chinese doctor mentioned that my body has weakened due to too much of antibiotics. He advises me to recover my health when I’m fully healed from the cough by taking some supplements to improve digesting system and blood circulation as my BP reading is relatively low (it was low all the while but the doctors mentioned nothing to worry about which also led me concerned).
I’m still putting my finger cross and look forward to the day that I’m fully recovered. It got me thinking what is the point of sacrificing health, personal time, faith and relationship to work? What do I get in return at the end of the day? It could be knowledge, experience but being promoted is the least to hope for here. Is it worth to continue to stay for another 1-2 years?
