Lack of faith?

My Aunt and Uncle are looking forward to this Easter and their son in-law will be baptising this Easter in Singapore. Unfortunately there came the news that their son in-law could not be baptised this Easter. He was and still attending RCIA but the priest remark was that he felt his faith wasn't strong enough to be a Catholic. He is required to attend another year of RCIA although he did not miss any of the session.

This puzzled me. It was my cousin himself that willing to enter into the Catholic faith. If the priest can feel his faith, then many of us, born Catholics are also needed to be felt by the priest. How many of us are true Catholics? Are our faith strong enough?
