My first ever roommate CCL wedded 2 weeks back.
Surprise in the first place when she broke the news to me that she has accepted her partner’s marriage proposal after knowing him for 6 months. I guess she has found her Mr. Right. Startle when she broke to me wedding to speed up in the next few months in May because she is pregnant. Shock when I came to know she regretted her marriage less than a week after her wedding. Weird when she told me everything is fine suddenly in the second week.
What is fine, I wonder. Turning into a beast in a week’s time and turning back to normal in the second week? Both did not settle the issue. They just ignore. CCL gave in to keep silent when her husband insisted of not bringing up the issues that had happened.
It’s good to screened back on the incidents that CCL has shared with me. What will I do if I’m in her shoe? Definitely I will not just ignore and try to forget. I will question for the truth and for the reasons behind all incidents. I will be in raged and I may take up the final solution – divorce. But that’s me. Probably I do not understand my friend fully on the situation that she is in. Maybe she just wants a family and she opts for peace.
Wedding is not just a ceremony or an announcement that you made to the world that you’ve tied the knot. I personally think that marriage comes when both parties are willing to take their relationship into another serious stage and that both are ready. Looking back on the family and marriage breakdowns in today’s world, marriage to me is a risk. How lasting a marriage will fully depends on how both spouses maintain it. What is marriage without love, respect and trust? What about other values like sacrifices and compromise? What about the marriage vows made?

It is sad to hear the story. Indeed, it is not easy to maintain a marriage. You are right, it's a risk to choose the right partner and have live with him for the rest of your life. So scary...
Yes. It's indeed a complicated issue in today's world. The I listen, the lesser I know about love.
